chris parry artist workbook - images and comments on my on-going painting practice, comment on, or plugs for, selected exhibitions and works by other artists. This workbook provides me a chance to share my progress in a blog like format and other random things too. I'll try and keep it interesting but then I like watching paint dry. On the right is a selection of the latest posts (RSS Feeds) from a few art blog sites.

Stacey Turner

Stacey Turner also graduated from Canterbury School of Fine Arts, before he dissapeared offshore he had a swagger of exhibitions of his recent work. Promoted as he was by 64zero3 Gallery which no longer exists means I Have had to remove the link details I had. Shame another Gallery bites the dust. Stacey has a unique approach to painting using linear drawing onto the brushwork detail of the paint to create delicious mixes of line and form.

marie le lievre

Marie le Lievre exhibited as part of the Masters 08 Show at SOFA Gallery. 'Baggage' - the chosen title of her recent body of works may make you think of handbags and trips to the psychotherapist and I guess you would be right, but dont be thinking le Lievre is all about psychological readings and gucci accessories, her paintings reveal a dedication to her own process in picture making bundled with nice compositions and a rich complimentary palette. http://www.fina.canterbury.ac.nz/sofa/

rezi van lankveld

I'm a Rezi Fan - I'd wanna be her friend on facebook - Beautiful wet on wet oil paint works on paper and board. Lucious wet paint - which we know I'm a fan of forms figurative representations in Rezi's paintings. Totally impressed and even maybe a bit influenced - Can I say that?. Through Art School my painting explorations included both representational painting and more abstract process based painting - you can see the results in the catalogue section. http://www.theapproach.co.uk/artists/lankveld/

katy moran 'travel cat'

Katy Moran makes great marks! This work titled 'Travel Cat' although only partially seen here is yet another delicious mix of painterly energetic marks on a planar tonal ground area. Retro seventies palette even, how could you not like it?. This image was from a show of hers at Stuart Shave  - Modern Art. . http://www.modernart.net/artists/katy-moran
